Who We Are
I, Tanner Towns, created How 2 Pray (the “App”) to help you support your personal prayer routine. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the App.

1) Information We Collect

How 2 Pray is designed to work on-device. The app stores:

  • Prayer content you enter
    Notes, verses, and prayer request text you add in the App.

  • Prayer request and reminder data you create
    Names, titles, schedules, and related prayer details you enter.

  • App settings and preferences
    Selections like templates, background image choices, and app configuration.

  • Optional photo selection data
    If you choose a photo from your library for a prayer step, we use that image as selected content in your app.

We do not collect account credentials, browsing history, contacts, device identifiers for tracking, location, or health data through the App.

2) How We Use Information

We use information only to operate the App features you are using:

  • Show your saved prayer entries, templates, and prayer requests.

  • Keep reminders and scheduling working.

  • Store and display your selected images and background choices.

  • Improve your in-app experience while using the app.

We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

3) Data Storage and Processing

  • Most data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.

  • Reminder-related settings and prayer content are used by the app and Widget.

  • We do not run a public account system.

  • We do not sell or market your personal data.

4) Permissions We Request

The App may request:

  • Photo Library Access
    to allow you to choose background images for prayer steps.

  • Notifications
    to send local reminders you create in the App.

These permissions are optional and only used for requested app features.

5) Sharing of Information

We do not collect, sell, trade, or share your personal or prayer content with anyone.

6) Third-Party Services

The App does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

7) Data Retention

Your data remains until you delete it in-app or delete the App from your device.

If you uninstall the App, local app data is typically removed from your device.

8) Your Rights and Choices

You can:

  • Delete your notes, prayers, and prayer requests directly in the App.

  • Revoke Photo Library access in iOS Settings.

  • Turn off reminder notifications in iOS Settings.

  • Contact us if you encounter an issue.

9) Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect app data by keeping it on-device and limiting unnecessary data flows. No system is perfect, so we also ask that you protect your device with standard security practices.

10) Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 in the context of account-based services, as no account is required.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the App and marked with a new “Last updated” date.
